Persistence and stubbornly doing work that only ensures survival – these two things have nothing in common. According to the metaphor of streams and dead ends, one should be persistent in moving with the stream, in creating better worlds, in developing. If you find yourself in a dead end, stubbornly spending energy there and getting nothing in return, that’s not right. The reasons why you’re there can vary. But typically, there are barriers to change – fatigue, lack of resources, location, social status, lack of willpower. However, when stuck in such dead ends, one must make every effort to break free. There’s no growth there. What’s more, such worlds can be remarkably stable, and people there become expendable. If you feel you’re in a dead end, get out and seek the flow. Even if the dead end is comfortable. It’s a place of death and degradation.
